Abstract

This research examines the relationship between community social capital and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). We combine data on clinical outcomes from Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC) with data on community social capital and neighborhood-level data from the U.S. Census Bureau (all KPNC data is restricted and is only analyzed by Kaiser personnel). We hypothesize that higher levels of community social capital are associated with improved clinical outcomes.
